Insurance Claim Presentation

One of the key features of our service is insurance claim presentation. We can advise you on the likelihood of the damage being covered under the terms of your buildings insurance policy. If we believe that you have a valid claim we can arrange for a report and estimate to be submitted to your insurer for consideration.
It is important to remember that not every problem is covered by insurance policy. It is likely that your insurers will appoint a representative to deal with the matter on their behalf. It is also important to remember that this representative, whether a loss adjuster or a claims management company, is acting in the interests of the insurer and not you.
JTS Civil Engineers Ltd are working for you and our experienced insurance department will ensure that your claim is presented promptly, fairly and at no cost to you.
If the claim is successful you would be responsible for the policy excess.
Find & Fix Leaking Pipes
If water is surfacing then find and fix may be the cheapest option to rectify the problem with the leaking supply pipe. This would involve an excavation normally 1m3 being carried out and a repair made on the pipe.
It is important to remember that where water is showing does not always reflect where the leak is. It is possible that more than once excavation may be required, or an excavation larger than 1m³ will be required.
If there is no water surfacing, then find and fix is not always the best option as a number of excavations would need to be carried out in order to cut and cap the pipe work to test each section to narrow down the location of the leak.
Water Mains Replacement
In some circumstances it may be more cost effective to renew your leaking water supply than carry out find and fix works depending on the length of your supply. By opting for a new supply disruption is kept to minimum.
Using our specialist trenchless technology techniques JTS Civil Engineers’ skilled Engineers will install a new MDPE water main complete from the company stop cock to the new connection point inside your property. To see how trenchless technology works click here for our video
It is important to inform your water authority that you have had your supply renewed as many water authorities provide a financial incentive for renewing your private supply.
Water Leak Detection & Pipe Tracing
Our surveyors are trained and experienced in using various types of leak detection equipment and listening devices to pinpoint leaks and locate water supply pipes quickly and efficiently so that the necessary repairs can be speedily carried out. We also have access to a specialist contractor who uses tracing gas where are unable to locate the leak using our methods.
It is important to consider the benefits of renewing your supply against the time and cost of locating a leak. Even through water may be surfacing the leak may not be in this location.
Our surveyors will provide as much guidance as possible whilst on site.
Common Water Supply Pipe Repairs
Common supply problems can be difficult to resolve, they can often cause problems between neighbours who derive benefit from these systems when a leak appears with regards to financial responsibility.
It is against current water regulations to renew a common supply system.
Whilst it is acceptable to carry out an isolated repair or repairs, we strive to ensure that we renew a new singular water service supply pipe.
This involves liaising with the water authority to obtain new connections enabling each property to have a single supply. The benefits of this include an uninterrupted supply, with improved flow rates. We do not charge for administration of these works.

Duct and Cable Installation
We are able to install ducts up to 110mm in diameter, by thrust boring (Moling)
The ducts we install can be used for
- Telecom cables
- Electrical cables
- Fibre optic
- Utility pipes
By moling in a duct to accommodate these services helps reduce time on site, cost and disruption to the property that would be done by using trenches to install the service.
Septic Tank Replacements/Repairs

We will inspect your septic tank for damage and then provide a free quote for repair or replacement as well as giving you a report detailing the reason your problem is there.
We will always recommend the most cost effective way of fixing your sewerage issue.
Treatment Plant Replacements/Repairs

As with our service for septic tanks we will inspect your treatment plant for damage and then provide a free quote for repair or replacement as well as giving you a report detailing the reason your problem is there.

Sewerage Pipe Repairs and Replacements
JTS Civil Engineers are independent sewage treatment specialists with over 20 years’ experience. We don’t only deal with the clean water side, we also offer a full range of drainage and effluent services.
Many of the pipes taking water and waste away from our properties are very old. As pipes age they can crack and split. Drips of water leaking can, over a period of many years, wash away the soil beneath the pipe creating a void which the pipe then falls into, breaking even further.
We will provide a full report and propose solutions to any drainage problem that you have on your property.
